NANS Celebrates Safe Release of Abducted FULAFIA Students

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Nigerian Police, the local community, and the traditional rulers whose collaborative efforts led to the successful release of seven students from the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) in Nasarawa State, abducted just four days ago.

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by Comr. Huzaifa Sabo Usman, Deputy Senate President, National Association of Nigerian Students.

This swift and effective response demonstrates the dedication of our security forces and the invaluable support from the community and traditional leaders. NANS acknowledges the pivotal role played by each stakeholder in ensuring the safe return of our students.

While celebrating this positive outcome, NANS urges the security services to implement more robust and proactive measures to secure students nationwide. Incidents like these underscore the urgency of reinforcing security protocols to prevent the recurrence of such unfortunate events.

The National Association of Nigerian Students wants to assure our security personnel of our unwavering support in their mission to safeguard campuses across the country. We stand united with the security forces, advocating for enhanced security measures to protect the lives and well-being of our students.

NANS calls on the relevant authorities to prioritize the safety of students, emphasizing the need for continuous collaboration between security agencies, communities, and traditional leaders to create a secure environment for learning.

As we express our gratitude, let this moment serve as a catalyst for more effective strategies to ensure the safety of our educational institutions and the students within them.
