NANS Elects Olushola Oladoja as New National President

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has elected Comrade Olushola Oladoja as its new National President.

Oladoja, a postgraduate student at the University of Jos, emerged victorious after securing 300 votes in a keenly contested election held at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja.

He defeated Salauhudeen Suleiman, a student of Yakubu Gowon University (University of Abuja), who garnered 40 votes, and Gambo Abubakar from Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, who polled 15 votes.

The convention brought together over 358 Senators — Presidents of Students’ Union Governments — from tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

The election was conducted under the leadership of Comrade Suleiman Sariki, who served as the Convention Chairman.
