NDE trains 20 on environmental beautification in Zamfara

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has flagged off the orientation and training of 20 unemployed youths on Environmental Beautification Scheme with a view to help address unemployment problem in the state.
Speaking during the flag off ceremony Tuesday, the Zamfara State Coordinator, Hamza Hadiza Kolo, said the environment beautification training scheme (EBTS) is designed to create decent jobs to unemployed schools leavers and drop-out through training and development in the landscaping service value chain.
“This training will be carried out in all 36 states and FCT for the duration of 3 months commencing from 22nd April, 2024, the beneficiaries will be trained in 3 skills which included Plaster of Paris (POP), Hand Landscaping (Interlocking) and Horticulture Soft Landscaping (Flowering).
“It is on this premise that the management under the leadership of the Director General gave approval for the training of 20 unemployed youths in Zamfara State to participate in the EBTS 2024 under the Special Public Works department of the Directorate.
“EBTS promotes environmental renewal in habitants (Urban and Rural) particularly towns and cities offering skills and aesthetics, protection, sanitation, ornamentation to finishing including skills, Hamza Kolo has stated.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Farida Dalhatu, said they will be very attentive to what their Master Trainers will teach so as to become best in the skills the NDE designed to train them upon with a view to become self reliant at the end of the training.
Also speaking, Mustapha Zubairu who is a Person with a Special Need, has commended the NDE for selecting them out of too many to acquire knowledge on what would turn to be their source of living, especially as he is a Person with Special Need, the training will prevent him from street begging.
