New APC ward executives emerge, slam fresh suspension on Ganduje

By Abdullahi Yusuf

The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has deepened, as new executives emerged from Ganduje ward and issued a fresh suspension on the acting National Chairman of the party, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The new group from Ganduje ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of the state claimed to be the legitimate Ganduje ward executives legally and validly elected on July 31,2021.

Led by the Secretary of Ganduje ward, Ja’afar Adamu Ganduje, the group slammed the suspension on Ganduje while addressing newsmen in Kano on Sunday.

Adamu, who spoke on behalf of 11 other executive members of the ward, explained that the suspension of the former Governor was necessitated by the allegation of anti-party activities he exhibited that led to division and failure of the party during the 2023 elections in the state.

Adamu, who is Ganduje’s Nephew, also accused Dr Ganduje of igniting conflict of interest that led to the emergence of two factional executives in the ward, “thereby bringing the party into disrepute in the eyes of the public.”

He also alleged that the APC national Chairman had not been paying his statutory party dues.

“We are the authentic executives of Ganduje ward and we have passed a vote-of-no- confidence and imposed a new suspension on Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for series of reasons.

“First we have suspended Dr Ganduje’s membership for creating internal conflict among party members at the ward level.

“Another major reason why the authentic executives resolved to suspend Ganduje is the issue of anti-party activities he generated during the 2023 elections, which resulted to the party’s failure in the state,” the secretary said.

Adamu emphasized that those two factions claiming to be the executives of the Ganduje ward of the APC are fake and impostors orchestrated by Dr Ganduje “and other bad elements in the party.”

He threatened that the real Ganduje ward leaders would not hesitate to Institute legal action against the two factions who earlier addressed the media claiming to be the Ganduje ward executives.
