New Leadership Emerges as ASUP Kano Polytechnic Holds Elections
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) Kano State Polytechnic chapter has ushered in a new era with the successful election of its leadership for the next two years.
Held on Thursday, December 21st, at the School of Technology, the elections saw members from various departments actively participating and casting their votes for their preferred candidates.
The process, declared to be conducted in accordance with ASUP guidelines, unfolded with the keen observation of stakeholders and union members.
Election officer, Dr. Aminu Sabo, announced the winners shortly after the votes were tallied, marking the official transition of power within the association.
Dr. Badamasi Inuwa emerged victorious in the chairman’s race, securing a decisive win with 218 votes. He edged out Engr. Umar Saikayi and Bashir Umar Faruq, who placed second and third respectively.
The vice-chairman post went to Kabir Dalha Umar, while Muhammad Abubakar claimed the secretary-general position.
Completing the newly elected team are Dauda Yusuf Tofa (Assistant Secretary), Isyaku Rabiu (Financial Secretary), Sama’ila Bashir (Welfare Secretary), Magaji Babayo (Treasurer), Aliyu Shittu (Internal Auditor), and Babangida Sa’adu (Publicity Secretary).
Expressing his sincere gratitude to the voters, Dr. Badamasi Inuwa, the incoming chairman, emphasized his commitment to fostering unity among ASUP members.
