New Rep. Asama (Jos North/Bassa) met Senator Lalong, expressing gratitude for his mentorship.

From Tongnaan Bawa, Jos

Newly sworn in Member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Daniel Asama has visited Senator Simon Bako Lalong to appreciate him for his mentorship and counsel over the years which strengthened his resilience to offer himself for service.

Asama who was at the Abuja residence of the former Plateau State Governor said although he contested the election and won under a different political party (LP) from that of Lalong, he considers it very appropriate to pay the visit and register his appreciation to him for the many years of father to son relationship and tutelage.

The member who recalled the lessons he learnt while working under Senator Lalong, said the former Minister of Labour and Employment is a political leader whose style of politics does not encourage bitterness or emnity despite ideological differences that could exist between the actors.

He assured Senator Lalong that he is at the national assembly to serve his Constituency as well as Plateau State by ensuring that the challenges facing the people are tackled through sound legislation.

Asama further pleaded with Senator Lalong to continue to leave his doors open for younger politicians like him to learn from and be able to serve Nigeria with excellence.

While congratulating the new House Member, Senator Lalong reminded him that his election is the wish of the people and the fulfilment of God’s purpose which should not be taken lightly.

He said although he would have wished that the Member of his party won, nevertheless the wish of the people must be respected as it is ordained by God.

Lalong used the opportunity to remind the member that elections have come and gone and the time for governance is at hand, urging him to make the best of it to bring succour to the people.

He assured him that he will keep his doors opened for advice and collaboration whenever it is needed for the interest to the State and nation at large.
