Nguru Education Secretary, School Proprietor Unite to Tackle Out-of-School Threat
From Auwal Salim, Damaturu, Yobe
The Education Secretary of Nguru Local Government, Alhaji Hamisu Ado, received the proprietor of Fatima Academy, Hajiya Fatima Shettima, and her entourage in his office.
The meeting focused on key issues, including teacher motivation and the growing threat posed by out-of-school children.
While addressing the visitors, Alhaji Hamisu Ado emphasized the importance of teamwork and synergy. He stressed the need for all stakeholders to fully support and align with government policies and programs designed to improve access to education, especially for vulnerable children in the community.
In her response, Hajiya Fatima Shettima reaffirmed her commitment to closer collaboration with the education authorities. She assured the Education Secretary of her school’s readiness to contribute significantly to efforts aimed at reducing the number of out-of-school children in the area.
This development is part of a broader move to re-strategize and foster collective efforts toward eradicating the out-of-school children crisis in our communities—an issue that must be treated as a shared responsibility.
In Yobe State—particularly in Nguru Local Government Area—a new partnership has emerged between the Local Education Authority and private school proprietors, creating a platform for collaboration and mutual understanding.
The purpose of this initiative is to bridge long-standing communication gaps that have hindered effective change and progress in the education sector.
