From Tijjani Mujaheed, Yobe
The Nguru Local Government Education Authority has announced its unwavering commitment to enhancing and improving the quality of education within the region.
Education Secretary, Mallam Hamisu Ado Nguru, made this declaration today during the commencement of the 2023 enrollment drive and Back to School campaign, conducted in collaboration with the UNICEF Maiduguri Field Office.
Hamisu emphasized that the initiation of this campaign in Nguru followed the official launch that occurred in Damaturu a few weeks ago. He stressed the dedication of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration to ensuring that all out-of-school children are reintegrated into the education system, regardless of the challenges they may face.
He added that the Yobe State Government has established the Education Trust Fund, which is designed to allocate resources for the implementation of educational policies that promote gender equality, equity, high-quality learning, and a secure and violence-free educational environment for all residents of the state.
Furthermore, Hamisu expressed his appreciation to various partners, including FCDO, USAID, UNICEF, and PLAN INTERNATIONAL, for their valuable contributions to this cause.
He assured them of the intention to expand and strengthen collaboration to enhance the quality of education in Nguru Local Government.
Hamisu extended his gratitude to everyone who participated in the event, including the representative of the Nguru Emirate Council, Chairman of the School Base Management Committees (SBMC), and the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), on behalf of the numerous school children in the area.
