Nigerians didn’t take issue of drugs serious before – Yobe NDLEA Commander

The Commandant, Yobe State National Drugs and Law Enforcement Agency, CN Abdul’aziz Kayode Ogungboye said he appreciated the change of attitude exhibited by the Nigerian People in recent time.
“Unlike before Nigerians tend to show their sympathy towards drug dealers and peddlers when ever our men went on arrest or seizures”
Adding, “But with emergence of Buba Marwa a season administrator that has his tentacles spread to every nooks and crannies of the country, the situation change for the better”
He said, “Buba Marwa show commitments by way of embarking on advocacy and sensitizing the Nigerian populace on the dangers poised by drugs abuse among our youths”.
Abdul’aziz said, “here in Yobe State, we are preparing to replicate the same by establishing State Drug Control Committee where all stakeholders will come on board while rural communities are going to be engaged through sensitization on the dangers constitute by drugs intake that seems to be common in those days”.
“We are going to tell them, that philanthropist gesture coming to you from drugs cartel is nothing but blood money and at the time sooner nor later you are at the receiving end”.
According to him, there is a serious linkage between the use of drugs and terrorism, that is why we suggesting Yobe State should put a rehabilitation centre in place.
