Nigerians will soon reap benefits of tough decisions – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu says that Nigerians will soon start to see the benefits of the “tough” decisions that his administration has made.

He revealed this while delivering a speech at the green economy summit in Minna, Niger state, on Tuesday.

President Tinubu who was represented by Sabi Abdullahi, minister of state for agriculture said that the economic policies rolled out by his government would soon start to yield results.

“I want to assure Nigerians that the sacrifices we are making today will pay off in the long run.

“We are committed to building a green economy that will create jobs, improve our standard of living, and protect our environment,” he said.

Tinubu said that the new solid mineral development policy approved by the federal executive council on Monday would help to promote a green economy in Niger state.

“The policy will remove all forms of illegality that are desecrating and destroying our environment.

“It will also ensure that mining is done in a sustainable and responsible manner.,” he added.

Tinubu said that his administration is also committed to food security.

“Food security is my number one priority,” he said. “We will do everything we can to ensure that Nigerians have enough to eat.”

Tinubu acknowledged that the tough decisions his administration has made have caused some difficulties for Nigerians.

“I am aware of all the difficulties occasioned by some of the tough decisions that have to be taken by my government,” he said.

“But I ask for your understanding and patience. The gains of our sacrifice are just a short minute or short hours away from us.

“Very soon, we shall begin to reap the benefits of these tough decisions as our economy will bounce back and for us.”
