Notorious Kidnap Kingpins Captured in Plateau State

In a significant breakthrough, troops of Three Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN have apprehended two notorious kidnap kingpins, Mohammed Musa (aka Mamman) and Alhassan Samaila, in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Parading them at the premises of Operation SAFE HAVEN in Jos, the military Information officer, of the Operation, Major Samson Zhakom, said the Operation GOLDEN PEACE, was conducted on December 10th 2024 following intelligence reports on the suspects’ hideouts.
Zhakom explained that thorough search of the hideout led to recovery of Four hundred and 439 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition concealed in a Four litres engine oil gallon.
He said Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects posed as transporters to convey ammunition to bandits in Plateau, Kaduna, and Zamfara States.
The arrested suspects, according to the military information officer are currently making useful confessions, and security agencies are conducting follow-on operations to capture other members of the criminal syndicate and recover their arms and ammunition.
The 3 Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN reassured the public of its commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property within the Joint Operations Area.
He added that the operation is part of the ongoing efforts to ensure a secure harvest and peaceful yuletide celebration in the region following directive by the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede.
He however urged members of the public to support security agencies with timely intelligence to aid in ridding the Joint Operations Area of criminalities.
