NSCDC Busts Vandal Syndicate, Arrests Three in Kano

Operatives of the Anti-Vandalism unit of the NSCDC, Kano Command, apprehended two suspected vandals at Eid Ground, IBB Way, Kano, during a night patrol.

This information was contained in a statement signed by SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, CDPRO Kano Command, on Friday.

According to the statement, the suspects, identified as Sunusi Musa (30) and Musbahu Habibu (32), were arrested at approximately 1630hrs on Wednesday while melting a large cache of streetlight cables they had vandalized and stolen at Koki Quarters, Kano Municipal LGA.

Similarly, another arrest was made on Race Course Road, Nassarawa GRA, Kano. The suspect, Muhammad Ado (47), was caught packing vandalized streetlight wires at around 1100hrs.

All three suspects are currently in the custody of the Corps as investigations continue. Upon completion, they will face the full extent of the law. The state command is also pursuing three accomplices who are still at large.

The command stated, “The NSCDC Kano Command, under the leadership of Commandant Mohammed Lawal Falala, FCNA, hereby warns vandals of critical national assets and criminals alike to desist from their nefarious acts. The Corps has launched a serious manhunt for criminal elements, and once caught, they will be made to face justice.”
