NSCDC Commandant Falala Calls for Peace at International Peace Day Seminar in Kano

In honor of International Peace Day, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State, Commandant Mohammed Lawal Falala, has called for collective efforts to maintain peace and stability across the state.

Speaking during the opening of a one-day seminar themed ‘Cultivating the Culture of Peace’, Commandant Falala urged religious, traditional, and community leaders to collaborate with security agencies to preserve the peace currently being enjoyed in Kano.

This is contained in a statement released by SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Kano Command.

According to the statement, Falala emphasized the critical role peace plays in achieving socio-economic development, noting that “peace is everybody’s business.” He encouraged the public to partner with the NSCDC and other security agencies to safeguard stability in the region.

The seminar featured three well-researched presentations: Effective Communications in Conflict Resolution by Dr. Kawu Sule Rano from Bayero University, Perception and Stages of Conflict by DC Atiku Marafa Yabo, and Emotional Intelligence in Conflict Management by SC Mubarak Muhammed Bello. These topics aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of conflict resolution and peacebuilding strategies.

Attendees at the seminar included senior NSCDC officials, area commanders, divisional officers, and officers from various outposts across the state.

To round off the celebration, NSCDC personnel undertook a peace awareness trek, spreading messages of peace in Dotsa, Dangwauro, Waratallawa, and Na’ibawa communities within Kumbotso Local Government Area.

The event demonstrated the NSCDC’s commitment to fostering a peaceful environment in Kano, ensuring the continued harmony and security of the state.
