One dead as throne tussle tears Kahu community apart

Kahu, a Kibiya sleepy town, under the jurisdiction of Rano emirate council has recently been ruptured over a throne battle between two rival clan in the community.
PRIME TIME NEWS gathered that a fracas that broke out in the community fortnightly left one dead and traditional ruler injured.
According to the incumbent traditional ruler of the town, the skirmishes, which broke out shortly after Friday prayer, was sparked by an ongoing throne tussle to reclaim a throne by a clan in the community which does not legally belong to them.
The victim of the recent clash, identified as Mal. Salisu, 52-year old married man died from beaten bruises which led to many injuries inflicted in his head, according to his nephew, Mal. Usaini Kahu who rushed him to the hospital before giving up the ghost.
Mr. Usaini said ‘’the deceased is a peace loving citizen who eked out for living from farming and contributed immensely toward community development’’.
He added that ‘’although, arrest were made to this respect, but my concerned is serving the perpetrators the justice they deserved’’. He further said that the deceased left seven children, wife and a mother.
When PRIME TIME NEWS paid an on the spot visit to the town, learnt that the succession fear grip the town and its neighbouring villages over uncertainties.
An elder, Mal. Ali Ado Kibiya, called on the relevant authorities to butt in and avoid further bloodshed in the town.
He said the violence was very unnecessary, which according to him, is an issue that could be approached mildly and settled amicably.
