Over 1,000 APC Members Decamp to NNPP in Kano

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has on Saturday received over 1000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who decamped to the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) from Shanono and Bagwai local government area of the state.

The decampees were received formally by the State Deputy Governor, Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo on behalf of the Governor at the Government House.

Comr. Abdussalam while receiving the decampees, declared that he was highly delighted to receive the defectors from APC into the ruling party NNPP in the state.

While congratulating the new members, The Deputy Governor noted that those who defected to the party would be accorded equal rights with the old members as NNPP believes in unity.

Gwarzo further reiterated Governor Yusuf’s dedication to implementing programs that benefit all corners of Kano State. He urged continued public support for the administration’s vision of progress and prosperity.

Speaking earlier, Leader of the defectors, Alh. Haruna Babangida Abbas (Kosashe), explained their decision. Impressed by Governor Abba’s leadership and governance style, they felt the NNPP better aligned with their values.

Abbas expressed regret for their past APC membership and pledged their dedication to working towards a better Kano State under the NNPP.

Present at the event was the Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, while welcoming the new members, He assured to carry them along in all the party activities while urging other political parties and members of the APC to join NNPP in moving the state forward.

Hashimu equally adviced them to rally round the manifestation, policies and programmes of the present administration in the state.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including the Kano State Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Alh. Musa Suleiman Shanono, and several NNPP stakeholders, who all expressed their satisfaction with the influx of new members.
