Oyo State Gov. Makinde Mourns Sarkin Hausawa of Ibadanland, Ali Zungeru

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Sarkin Hausawa of Ibadanland, Alhaji Ali Zungeru.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Governor’s Special Assistant on Print Media, Makinde condoled with the Hausa community in Ibadanland and the family of the late traditional leader.
Governor Makinde described Zungeru’s passing as a “huge loss,” noting that he was “a man of peace and a dependable community leader.” He praised the late Sarkin for his contributions to peace and development in the state, adding that he lived an exemplary life of unity and service.
The governor also extended his condolences to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, praying to God to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
Alhaji Ali Zungeru, who was turbaned a few months ago, passed away on Monday evening and was laid to rest on Tuesday in the Sabo community of Ibadan North Local Government Area, according to Islamic rites.
He succeeded his elder brother, Ahmadu Zungeru, who assumed the position after the death of their father, Dahiru Zungeru.
