Police dismiss two personnel over culpable homicide in Adamawa

The Adamawa state police command has dismissed a police inspector and a constable for alleged culpable homicide and unlawful use of authority contrary to the police Act.
Spokesman of the command,SP Suleiman Nguroje made the disclosure in a press statement issued in Yola Wednesday explaining that applied department al administrative procedure in investigating the duo and subsequently found wanting as charged.
“On the 30/8/2023 Adamawa State Police Command tried Insp Ahmed Suleiman and PC Mahmood Muhammed formally attached to Dumne Divisional Police Headquarters, in an Orderly room trial.
“The Men were tried on three Count Charges, Discreditable Conduct to wit Defamation of Character, Culpable Homicide and Unlawful exercise of Authority Contrary to paragraph ‘E'(I)(iii) and ‘Q'(I) (iii) of First Schedule of Police Act and Regulations, Section 370, 2020 as Amended.
“The Command found them Guilty as Charged and recommended the punishment of Dismissal for Both Defaulters , they are to be Charged to Court along side other Co-Suspects.
“The Constable has been de-kit while the Inspector will be de-kit at after fulfilling Some Administrative procedures.
“The Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola warned officers and Men of the Command to be punctual and shun all Offences against Discipline”.The statement added.
It could be recalled that the dismissed personnel were among the suspects that conspired and murdered their victims in Dumne area over allegation of witchcraft some weeks ago.
