Pray, Give Alms, Seek Forgiveness During Ramadan – Murtala Sule Garo

By Hannatu Sulaiman Abba
The former Kano State Commissioner for Local Governments, Hon. Murtala Sule Garo, has urged Muslims worldwide to use the Ramadan period as an opportunity to seek forgiveness, pray, and give alms to those in need.

Hon. Murtala emphasized that the 30-day journey of Ramadan is a significant period in Islam, marked by fasting, reflection, and spiritual growth. “Ramadan is a time that brings us closer to Allah, the Almighty. It is a period of self-discipline, devotion, and renewed faith,” he said.

He further encouraged his fellow Muslims in Kano State and beyond to make the most of this sacred month by embracing its values through repentance, sincere prayers, and acts of charity.

“I also call on the people of Kano State to pray hard for the peace, progress, and prosperity of our dear state and the nation at large,” he added.

In conclusion, Hon. Murtala urged all Muslims to remain steadfast in their faith and embody the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (peace and Allah’s blessings be upon him), including compassion, generosity, and kindness.
