Prof. Yauta’s Confirmation as GSU VC, a Testament to Excellence – Alumni President, Youth O’Clock

The confirmation of Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Gombe State University (GSU) has continued to attract commendations from stakeholders, with the university’s Alumni Association and Youth O’Clock Nigeria describing the development as timely and well-deserved.
Speaking in an interview, the National President of the Gombe State University Alumni Association, Malam Buhari Magaji, PhD, lauded Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Visitor to the institution, for approving Professor Yauta’s appointment.
“This appointment is a recognition of Professor Yauta’s exceptional leadership, integrity, and commitment to academic excellence.
As Acting Vice Chancellor, he has shown remarkable vision in promoting research, innovation, and strategic collaborations that lifted the profile of our university,” Magaji said.
He added that the Alumni body has full confidence in the new Vice Chancellor’s ability to consolidate the gains of the institution and move it to greater heights.
On his part, the Gombe State Coordinator of Youth O’Clock Nigeria, Comrade Abdulazeez Sani Labaran, described the confirmation as “an act of wisdom and foresight” that will inspire renewed confidence in the future of the institution.
“Professor Yauta is a leader with wisdom and strength. We believe his tenure will bring not only academic innovation but also infrastructural development. Importantly, his vision includes policies that will ensure inclusivity and support for persons with disabilities on campus,” Labaran said.
The Youth O’Clock Coordinator further noted that Professor Yauta’s past roles as Director of Academic Planning and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) prepared him adequately for the task ahead, stressing that his track record speaks volumes of his capacity.
Both Malam Buhari Magaji and Comrade Sani Labaran congratulated the new Vice Chancellor, expressing optimism that his leadership will usher in unity, growth, and prosperity for Gombe State University.
