Qua’an-Pan LGA: Stakeholders Meet to Address Attacks

Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area Christopher Manship has urged traditional rulers, religious leaders, and development associations to join hands with his administration in condemning the attacks and working towards a permanent solution.

Manship spoke during a large Security meeting held at the Local Government Guest House Doemak.

The Director of Press and Publicity to the Chairman, Danaan Sylvanus in a statement
recalled that suspected gun men attacked some Communities in Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area, leaving many displaced.

The affected communities include Nteng, Doop, Zhep Morop, Gyeergu, Kelaghan, Loon, Kwakii, and Gorom in Doemak District.

The attack occurred around late August, just as residents were preparing to harvest their crops, resulting in significant destruction of property and livelihoods.

In his address, Chairman of Qua’an-Pan Local Government Council, Christopher Manship, said the Stakeholders’ meeting aimed to end the attacks and build a more secure and prosperous Qua’an-Pan for all.

He noted that security agencies have been promptly mobilized to the affected areas to ensure the situation is brought under control and those displaced by the attacks of early return to their respective homes.

Contributing, Plateau State Commissioner of Culture, Tourism, and Hospitality Cornelius Doeyok commended Christopher Manship for convening a stakeholders meeting to address the recent attacks on some communities in the local government area.

The Chairman of the Qua’an-Pan Traditional Council, Safiyanu Allahnanan, emphasized that traditional rulers have a crucial role to play in restoring peace to communities affected by the recent attacks.

The statement added that Council Chairman has visited communities affected by the attacks, showing his commitment to the welfare and safety of residents.
