Ramadan feeding programme N1.97bn, not N6bn, Gov. Yusuf clarifies

Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State refuted reports alleging his administration allocated N6bn for the Ramadan Feeding Programme.

The governor made this clarification on his official X social media handle on Sunday.

The post reads, “Over the past few days, I’ve observed heightened media speculation about our government purportedly budgeting the sum of N6bn for the Ramadan Feeding Programme.

“I wish to categorically state that the actual amount for the programme is the sum of N1.97bn for the whole month.

“I also counsel the media to ensure that they get their figures regarding our projects from the proper sources without giving credence to speculative figures.”

Recall that the Kano All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, challenged the NNPP government on Saturday to prove the expenditure of N6 billion on this year’s Ramadan feeding program.
