Ramadan: Jigawa Govt Reduces Working Hours for Civil Servants
From Mika’il Tsoho, Dutse
Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi has approved a reduction in official working hours for civil servants in Jigawa State during the 2025 Ramadan fast.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, the State Head of the Civil Service.
According to the statement, civil servants will now report to work at 9:00 AM and close at 3:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, reducing the usual closing time by two hours. On Fridays, work hours will be from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, in line with the state’s customary practice.
The Head of Service explained that the adjustment aims to give civil servants more time to prepare for Iftar and actively participate in the spiritual activities of the holy month.
“It is hoped that civil servants will use this period to pray for God’s guidance and blessings for our state,” he stated.
The statement further urged civil servants to take advantage of the fasting period to pray for peace and economic prosperity in Jigawa and Nigeria as a whole.
