Ramadan: Jigawa Residents Lauds Gov Namadi for Timely Palliatives Distribution

Thousands of beneficiaries in Jigawa state, commended governor Malam Umar Namadi for the timely distribution of food items to serve as Ramadan Palliatives.

The commendation was made by some  beneficiaries shortly after receiving their palliatives at distribution points across 287 political wards in the state.

Speaking to our reporter Malam Umar Salisu of Sara town area Gwaram local government, described the gesture as “situation saver” as according to him it saved him and his family from the threat of hunger in the month of Ramadan.

“I don’t know how to express my happiness for this palliatives, because we have already exhausted our food items and no more money to buy. So on behalf of my entire family we said thank you to governor Danmodi, may Allah protect and reward him” Sara said.

Malama Nafisa Zakari Sallau, a widow with four young children, who burst to tears, explained that this the first time she recieved similar intervention three years after the death of her husband.

Another beneficiary from Malam-Madori local government area, Sani Dahiru Garba, described the effort as moves to support the needy at the appropriate time (the month of Ramadan).

“I received one bag of rice, maize and spaghetti which will be use to take Sahur and breakfast in the evening after the fasting. No doubt this palliatives make a serious impact in our life particularly at this period of fasting, so we thanks the governor for this”, he said.

Hajara Ilyasu Dalladi is another beneficiary of the palliatives from Dutse local government who urged governor Namadi to expand the feeding centres for Ramadan said, only God can rewards him as the gesture reduce hardship among poor in the state.

Speaking to journalists while supervision the distribution exercise, Hajiya Zainab Shuaibu Rabo the senior special assistant to the governor on media, said this is just a beginning of support distribution to the masses from the present administration in the state.

Hajiya Zainab explained that, apart from this distribution of 150,000 bags of rice, 150,000 bags of maize and 100,000 cartoon of superghetti more support are coming from the Governor with to reduce the hardship.

According to her, the governor already approved the release of funds for the elderly people just to serve as support and appreciation to their contribution to Jigawa state while they are at younger age.

She then, promised more dividends of democracy and support from the present administration, urging the people in the state to continue supporting the governor with prayers for better Jigawa in the future.
