Rano Emir Turbans Abdul Mato as Gado Da Masun Rano

The Emir of Rano, Alhaji Muhammad Isah Umaru (Autan Bawo), on Friday turbaned prominent sons of the emirate in recognition of their contributions to the development of the people.

At a colourful ceremony held at the Emir’s palace, Alhaji Adamu Abdul Mato, Managing Director/CEO of AHAS Interbiz Projects Ltd, was turbaned as the new Gado Da Masun Rano.

Abdul Mato, who is also Chairman of Eagle Global and General Merchant Ltd, AHAS Auto Contractors, and Impact Transglobal Services, has built a formidable business empire with ventures spanning procurement, general contracting, electrification, solar installation, and merchandise.

Speaking at the event, Emir Umaru said the Emirate Council carefully selected those turbaned based on their track records of service, contributions to the development of the people, and their ability to serve as good ambassadors of Rano.

“We considered their efforts in supporting the progress of the emirate and their communities. Today’s turbaning is not just an honour but also a call to responsibility — to continue discharging their duties with dignity and to serve as good ambassadors wherever they find themselves,” the Emir said.

Others who were turbaned include Hon. Alhaji Musa Umar Kibiya as Baraden Rano, Alhaji Umar Usman Kibiya as Dan Malikin Rano, Dr. Jabir Abubakar Sarki as Ajiyan Rano, Alhaji Adamu Yusuf as Sadaukin Rano, Alhaji Abba Alhassan Danlami as Talban Rano, and Dr. Hadi Bunkure as Sarkin Fadar Rano.

In his remarks, the new Gado Da Masun Rano and Emirate Council Member, Alhaji Abdul Mato, thanked the Emir for the honour and pledged to uphold the trust reposed in him.

“I am humbled by this recognition. I thank His Highness, the Emir of Rano, for finding me worthy of this position, and I also thank all who attended this historic occasion. I will do my best to serve the emirate and justify the confidence placed in me,” he said.

The turbaning attracted traditional title holders, government officials, business leaders, and well-wishers from across Kano State.
