Redeem Men Fellowship Puts Smiles on Jigawa Orphans’ Faces

From Mika’il Tsoho, Dutse

Members of the Redeem Men Fellowship (RMF) in Jigawa State have donated food items and other essential materials worth thousands of naira to orphans in Dutse, the state capital.

The donation was formally presented to the Deputy Director of the Child Development Unit under the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Fausat I. Muhammad, during a visit to the state orphanage on Friday.

President of the Redeem Men Fellowship in Jigawa, Mr. Segun Olawunmi Isiah, said the gesture was part of the group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aimed at bringing joy to the less privileged in society.

According to him, members of the fellowship collectively agreed to contribute resources and extend visits to motherless and orphanage homes across Dutse as a show of compassion.

“The purpose of the visit is to put smiles on the faces of orphans and to let them know they are valued members of the community, just like everyone else,” he stated.

Mr. Isiah added that the RMF team also occasionally visits prison inmates as part of their outreach programs. Items donated during the orphanage visit included sugar, spaghetti, soap, Viva detergent, biscuits, and several other household necessities.

In his remarks, Pastor Olumuyiwa Ajibola, leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Jigawa Province, emphasized that such visits form a core part of the church’s CSR initiative to support orphanages and prisons.

He called on the general public to emulate such humanitarian gestures as a way of uplifting the less privileged in society.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the ministry, the Director of the Child Development Unit, Hajiya Halima Yusuf Usman, represented by her deputy, Hajiya Fausat I. Muhammad, commended the group’s generosity and encouraged other organizations to take similar steps in supporting vulnerable groups.
