Rep Jaji’s Alleged Ties with PDP Government Spark APC’s Concern
From Abdullahi Alhassan, Kaduna
A committee of Concerned Elders for Peace within the All Progressives Congress (APC) North-West has urged the party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, to take disciplinary action against Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji, a member of the House of Representatives from Zamfara State, over alleged anti-party activities.
In a statement issued by the Zonal Coordinator of APC North-West, Aliyu Mammani Kaura, the elders accused Jaji of engaging in activities detrimental to the party’s unity, including sponsoring media attacks on party leaders and fostering internal discord.
According to them, Jaji’s actions have caused political instability and disrepute, particularly in Zamfara State, citing his alleged closeness to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government and his disregard for party leaders such as Minister of State for Defense, Bello Matawalle, and former Governor Abdul’aziz Yari.
Despite the party’s attempts at reconciliation, the statement noted that Jaji has continued to engage in divisive actions, using social media to attack party figures.
The elders warned that if left unchecked, Jaji’s conduct could undermine the APC’s unity and cohesion in Zamfara and the broader North-West region.
“Hon. Sani Jaji’s continued display of arrogance and disregard for party leadership poses serious risks, fostering indiscipline and internal crises that could hinder the APC’s progress in Zamfara State,” the statement read.
They further described Jaji’s approach as alarming, accusing him of deliberately working against the party’s stability in the region.
“The recent personal attacks and irresponsible utterances allegedly sponsored by Jaji’s political movement on social media against former Governors Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari and Hon. Bello Matawalle are disgraceful and unacceptable.
Additionally, the reckless remarks by Jaji’s aide, Mansur Aminu Khalifa, appear to be part of a calculated effort to insult and malign party leaders who have worked tirelessly to unify the APC in Zamfara.”
The elders also alleged that despite being aware of Jaji’s meetings with the PDP-led government in Zamfara, the APC leadership had accommodated him and his group in an attempt to maintain party unity. However, they claim his continued defiance demonstrates his loyalty to external forces rather than the APC’s progress.
“Jaji and his aide were suspended last year due to their misconduct and indiscipline, yet their actions remain unchanged, further proving that Jaji is acting in the interest of external forces rather than the party.”
The statement called on Jaji to focus on his legislative responsibilities rather than engaging in politically motivated attacks on fellow party members.
“The APC in Zamfara remains one united family, and any attempt to disrupt its hard-earned peace and stability must be resisted. We therefore urge the party’s leadership to take swift action before the 2027 elections,” the statement concluded.
