ROLAC Holds Validation Workshop On Kano State Proceeds Of Crime Recovery, Management Bill

The Rule of Law and Anti-corruption(ROLAC) has commenced a two-day Validation Workshop on the Draft Kano State Proceeds of Crime(Recovery and Management) Bill,2025.

The objective of the programme, according to the Open Government Partnership(OGP) Kano State Co-Chair,AbdlRazaq Alkali,is to inform participants on the journey so far for the development of Kano State Proceeds of Crimes(Recovery and Management) Bill 2025.

Alkali also said that the meeting is intended to create awareness among participants of the draft version of the bill,as well as capture the stakeholders’ inputs in the validated bill.

Additionally,the session is to confirm the validated draft as the clean copy of the bill,the Co-Chair said.

In his remarks,the State Programme Coordinator ROLAC II,Malam Ibrahim Bello, stated that the validation exercise was aimed at ensuring the accuracy, reliability and credibility of the bill.

Bello said after the validation exercise participants of the programme will “push harder” to take the bill to the next level.

He urged the participants to be good Ambassadors of the Bill “Wherever and Whenever you have the opportunity.”

The validation exercise is being facilitated by the Coordinating Consultant,Prof.Dahiru Jafaru Usman.

The meeting drew participants from Civil Society Organizations(CSOs), Non-governmental Organisations(NGOs) and the media,among other stakeholders.
