Rurum Mourns Buhari, Describes Former President’s Death as a Painful Loss to Nigeria
The lawmaker representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency, Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, has described the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari as a painful loss to Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Rurum, who is a former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, said Buhari’s passing is a tragedy not only for his immediate family and the people of Daura but for the entire nation.
“This is a deeply painful loss, not only for his immediate family and the people of Daura, but for the entire nation. Baba Buhari was more than a former head of state—he was a symbol of discipline, simplicity, and patriotism,” Rurum said.
He praised Buhari’s years of leadership, highlighting his sacrifice, integrity, and uncompromising stance against corruption. “His years in leadership were marked by sacrifice, integrity, and an unwavering belief in the unity and progress of this country. History will remember him for his resilience and his firm stance against corruption,” he added.
Offering prayers for the late president, Rurum said, “May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, expand his grave, and grant him a place among the righteous in Aljannatul Firdaus.”
He also extended condolences to Buhari’s family, the government, and the Nigerian people. “On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency, I extend our deepest condolences to his family, the government, and the people of Nigeria,” Rurum said.
