Sa’adatu Rimi University sets cutoff mark, reduces fees
Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education in Kano State has revealed 145 jamb score as the admission cut of mark.
The vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, revealed this on Thursday to pressmen.
He said, “With 145 jamb score, one can be admitted into the university with a slash of 50% in registration fee.”
Recall that the Governor of Kano, Abba Kabir Yusuf has slashed registration fees in state-owned tertiary institutions by 50%.
While commenting, Prof Bunkure lauded the governor’s initiative to reduce registration cost.
Prof Bunkure who doubles as the Makamar Rano said the fee reduction is not only to address financial burden on families but also encourage more students to seek admission, and foster inclusive educational environment.
According to him, the fee reduction only applies to state indigenes who are regular students.
“Part-timers, consultancy program participants, and others who are not regular are not included in this,” he added.
Comparing the university’s fee structure to that of other institutions, Prof. Bunkure highlighted that while Sa’adatu Rimi University’s fees are already affordable, the governor’s intervention further reduced the cost, to make it an appealing option for those who may have been deterred by the expenses associated with pursuing a degree.
He called on parents and students to make use of this opportunity for a better society.
