Sam Decent FC clinches victory in 2023 Imo Football League

In an exhilarating showdown at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri on Sunday, Sam Decent FC secured a remarkable 2-0 victory over Emmanuel FC of Orlu to claim the championship title in the 2023 Imo Football League.

Throughout the tournament, Sam Decent FC displayed an unwavering determination, remaining undefeated on their path to the final match.

Their journey to glory began with a confident 2-0 triumph over Paris FC. In the following game, they battled CENN FC to a 1-1 draw, but their resilience shone through when they secured a crucial 3-2 victory over Amicable FC, topping their group with seven points.

In the title-deciding clash, Sam Decent FC faced off against the spirited giant killers of the league, Emmanuel FC, who had made waves with their impressive performances.

However, the Owerri-based side proved to be the stronger force, emerging triumphant with a 2-1 scoreline, much to the delight of their fervent supporters.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Mr. Samuel Amaforonye, the Chief Executive Officer of Sam Decent FC, revealed the noble vision behind the establishment of the team.

He expressed his commitment to unearthing hidden talents, starting with nurturing young players in the Under-13 and Under-17 categories, and guiding them through to the senior teams.

“Our goal is to rise above this level,” Mr. Amaforonye asserted, hinting at the ambitious plans the club has for the future.

Filled with a sense of pride and determination, the players of Sam Decent FC vowed to make the state of Imo proud in the upcoming zonal elimination play-off scheduled later in the year.
