Save the children Nigeria, Partners Donate 1000 Kits to Basic Schools in Adamawa

An International Non Government under the aupieces ‘ Save The Children Nigeria’ in Conjunction with other development partners have donated 1000 dignity kits for school girls in Adamawa state.

Presenting the donation to the state government at the Ministry of Education and Human development in Yola Friday, Head of Education, Save The Children Nigeria, Mr. Ali Zulfiqar, said that the support became apparent due to their organization’s mandate of contributing to education and humanitarian sectors.

Zulfiqar explained that donation of the 1000 dignity kits was aimed at the school girls who are mostly in adolescence stage that needs attention from all to ensure our female wards are not distracted in the course of studies due to call of nature.

Zulfiqar added that the organization (Save The Children Nigeria) in Conjunction with Norwegian Republic Council (NRC), UNICEF with funding support from Education Can’t Wait (ECW) under the global funds for education project are handling the intervention in Adamawa state.

He further revealed that the schools to be accorded attention are based in 10 Communities of Yola South and Yola North local government areas in the state noting that seven (7) different projects to support education and humanitarian sectors are currently taking place in these Communities.

He also applauded the state government under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the cooperation been rendering to their organization stressing that, this project will be the last phase of the 3 year plan for the state.

Receiving the dignity kits on behalf of the state government, Commissioner  for Education and Human development, Dr. Umar Garba Pella expressed gratitude to the organization and its partners for the support for basic schools in the state.

Garba Pella assured that, the kits would be channel towards the direction or desired target judiciously maintaining that Governor Fintiri’s government gives top priority to girl child education.

Our Correspondent reported that the dignity kits were packaged in a customized school hand bags containing ; Sanitary pads, Washing soap, Bathing soap,dentol liquid,tooth paste, tooth brush and Vaseline cream respectively.
