The Headquarters, Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) in Damaturu, will conduct a demolition exercise involving the disposal of unserviceable ammunition at the Damaturu Military Cantonment from 14 to 15 March 2026.
In a press statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Kaita, the Acting Assistant Director, Sector 2 Army Public Relations, the exercise will commence daily at 0800 hours (8:00 a.m.).
Sector 2 of OPHK therefore requested journalists to use their respective media platforms to disseminate information about the exercise to the public.
He also advised members of the public, particularly residents of Damaturu and surrounding communities, not to panic upon hearing explosions or gunshots within the vicinity of the cantonment during the period, noting that the sounds will be part of routine military demolition activities.
