The Interim Caretaker Chairman of Ungogo LGA, Alh. Sani Abdu Ungogo, has praised the security measures implemented in his local government, calling them exemplary and worthy of emulation.

“Ungogo is strategically located, with immigrants arriving from various directions, including Rimin Gata and Dausayi and others”

“I remember a troubling incident when a trailer full of Fulani people and their cattle arrived and settled in Ungogo overnight “he noted.

To address this issue, Alh. Sani who already have a Security Committee comprising security agencies, traditional ruler and other key stakeholders was mantled with task of reacting to the situation.

“This committee was tasked with collecting details of any Fulani immigrants and verifying their origins by contacting the ward heads of their previous locations”

“This approach has been highly effective, contributing to relative peace in our LGA. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has praised our efforts and instructed that other LGA Caretaker Chairmen adopt similar strategies, as communicated by his Deputy, who is also the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,” Alh. Sani added.

The Chairman also announced that Ungogo LGA has been approved for 18 projects by the Kano State Government, with contractors currently on-site.

He also mentioned that among the eighteen projects approved by the government, they have constructed classroom blocks, 2 offices and stores in Minkyau and Fanisau towns, renovated and fenced the Zangon Barebari hospital, installed solar-powered street lights in Karo for security reasons, and fenced both the new and old cemeteries in Ungogo, as well as the central eid mosque of the area.

Additionally, he highlighted that they have built entrance gates to the LGA on four axis, renovated hospital in Katisawa in Bacirawa district, and completed projects including water drainage systems, culverts in the Jajira area, Rimin Kebe, and the Kauran school along Rijiyar Zaki.

Abdu Ungogo also noted that he has distributed educational materials to various schools across the region and conducted school visits to assess the state of education.

Alh. Sani expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf and his Deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, for their support. He urged journalists to acknowledge the government’s commendable efforts and bring attention to issues of concern.
