As part of efforts to promote youth development through sports, the Senator representing Jigawa Northwest Senatorial District, Senator Babangida Hussain, has upgraded two township stadiums to meet national league standards.
The two modern stadiums were commissioned by the Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, during the Government and Citizens Engagement Programme (Gwamnati da Jama’a) held in Gumel Local Government Area.
Senator Babangida reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that empower youth and foster long-term development across the district and the state at large.
“I remain fully committed to advancing every initiative that empowers our youth, strengthens our communities, and supports the long-term development of Jigawa State,” the Senator said.
He further explained, “In my ongoing efforts to promote youth engagement, social cohesion, and sports development, I have initiated and supported the upgrade of major sports infrastructure across Jigawa Northwest. I did it in Kazaure, I’ve now delivered it in Gumel, and Ringim is coming soon.”
The lawmaker pledged to sustain the mission across the district, ensuring more youth have access to safe, functional, and inspiring environments.
“These projects go beyond football; they are investments in peace, health, talent, and opportunity,” he added.
Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Malam Umar Namadi expressed gratitude for the Senator’s efforts in promoting sports and creating avenues for youth engagement and recreation.
He said such projects align with his administration’s commitment to youth development.
