Sen. Lalong Begins Rural Water Project in Plateau South

Residents of villages across Plateau South Senatorial District are in a jubilant mood as Senator Simon Lalong commences provision of motorised boreholes to ameliorate water challenges faced by his constituents.

Already, the project has commenced with boreholes drilled in Lifidi, Mikang Local Government Area and Jigawa Community, Timbol Ward of Langtang South Local Government Area.

Senator Lalong  while speaking to the benefiting communities through his Senatorial Liaison officer Hon. Edward Velwan said he will continue to address critical issues to improve their living conditions.

He said the shortage of clean and portable drinking water is a challenge that he is seriously concerned about and ready to address particularly in remote villages that have suffered for a long time.

The Senator in a statement through his Special adviser media Dr. Makut Macham, said for now, six villages have been captured in the first batch as follows: Lifidi and Garkawa villages (Mikang LGA), Takbol and Jigawa villages (Langtang South LGA); Angwan Zam and Mobile Police barracks (Shendam LGA).

He said others will follow in the second batch explaining that he will soon feel out more Constituency projects as the 2025 budget becomes operational.

The residents expressed appreciation for Senator Lalong’s intervention, describing it as timely, live saving and long overdue.

The village heads of the benefiting communities also thanked Senator Lalong for the gesture describing it as a fulfilment of his campaign promises.
