Sen. Lalong congratulates Naanlong Daniel on emergence as Speaker
From Tongnaan Bawa Jos
Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Lalong has welcomed the election of Daniel Naanlong as Speaker of the State House of Assembly following the resignation of the former Speaker Gabriel Dewan.
Lalong while congratulating him, says the emergence of Naanlong signals the beginning of a new dawn in the Plateau State House of Assembly as the APC which holds majority now takes over leadership that rightly belongs to it according to democratic tenets.
While congratulating the new Speaker in a statement signed by his Special Adviser Media, Makut Macham, Senator Lalong called on him to unite the house and hit the ground running towards making sure that the Assembly carries out its constitutional mandate of law making and oversight for the good of the people of Plateau State.
According to the APC leader who was the immediate Governor of Plateau State, said the Legislature should work in unity and collaboration with other arms of Government to ensure that the interests of the people are given priority at all times.
Lalong who holds the record of being the longest serving speaker in the State hopes that all members will support the new Speaker and give their best to ensure that the house covers lost grounds.
Senator Lalong assures the Speaker and members of the support of the APC at the State and national level, reiterating that the APC is only interested in good governance and delivery of democratic dividends and not impeachment or destabilising the Government as mischievously insinuated in some quotas.
He wishes the new Speaker well and prays that he will galvanise the members to deliver and make the APC proud.
