Sen. Lalong Lauds President Tinubu for appointments of Sa’ad,Gufwan to Federal agencies
From Tongnaan Bawa, Jos
Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Lalong has lauded President Tinubu for the appointments of Sa’ad Ibrahim Bello as Federal Commissioner, Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission and Ayuba Burki Gufwan to head the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities.
Lalong in a statement signed by Dr. Makut Macham, his Special Adviser Media on Friday, described the appointments as putting the square pecks in square holes as the appointees are suitably qualified and have the experience and capacity to occupy the positions and serve the nation.
On the appointment of Sa’ad Bello who was until recently the Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Lalong, the former Plateau State Governor said Sa’ad’s vast experience as former member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, former Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy among others, put him in a good stead to contribute towards harnessing and distributing the nation’s resources in his new office.
He described Sa’ad as a man of integrity and competence who has proven time and again that he is out to serve the public interest and not personal aggrandisement.
Senator Lalong who is also the former Governor of Plateau State, praised the President for appointing Ayuba Burki Gufwan to head the National Commission for Persons With Disabilities saying he is aptly suited for the job.
Lalong said Burki apart from being a person living with disability and defying all odds to succeed in all areas of his endeavour, has worked hard to motivate other colleagues to adopt the “can do spirit”.
He said through his Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Foundation, Chief Burki has reached out to thousands of people and empowered them to engage in many ventures that have removed them from poverty and discrimination.
While wishing the two appointees very successful tenures, Lalong urged them to make the nation and the people of Plateau proud because they come with sound pedigrees.
He prayed God to grant them wisdom and courage to do the needful in actualizing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
