Sen. Lalong Receives GUDO, Calls for Ethnic Harmony, Progress

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Lalong said ethnic affiliations are an integral part of the way of life of every society which must be cherished and sustained.
In a statement signed by Dr. Makut Macham, his Special Adviser Media, Lalong advised that the aspirations of ethnic groups must be carried out within the general interest of the society for peaceful coexistence, tolerance and development.
Senator Lalong who was speaking when Executive members of the Gamai Unity and Development Organisation (GUDO) paid him a courtesy visit at the National Assembly Abuja, said he owes his success in politics to the support and cooperation he received from his kinsmen who apart from standing behind him, reached out to other ethnic nationalities and interest groups to support his administration.
While appreciating GUDO for their advices, encouragement and prayers which helped him to serve the State to the best of his ability, he promised to continue to serve the people particularly of the Southern Zone in the Senate through legislative interventions that will enhance the lives of the people.
President of GUDO, Dr. Albert Kelong Alkali said GUDO is proud of the achievements of Senator Lalong during his term as Governor because he embraced the entire state and spread development.
He said GUDO acknowledges Lalong’s contributions to the development of Gamai land especially through bringing Federal presence and institutions to the area.
He commended Senator Lalong for supporting GUDO over the years and said the body will continue to seek his guidance, advise and support in its quest to promote socio-economic development among the Gamai people.
They presented a congratulatory message card to the Senator and prayed for him.
