Sen. Madori Confirms N1bn Approval for Construction of Police Training Institute in Jigawa

The Federal Government has approved the sum of N1 billion for the commencement of construction of a Police Training Institute in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Abdulhamid Ahmed Malam Madori, confirmed the approval while speaking during the Jigawa State Government Citizen Engagement Programme (JSGCEP) held in Kafin Hausa.

According to Senator Madori, the project has already been captured and approved in the 2025 national budget.

“The Senate has passed the bill establishing the Police Training Institute in Kafin Hausa, and all legislative processes have been completed. What remains is the President’s assent to pave the way for immediate commencement of the project,” he explained.

He noted that the establishment of the institute will enhance the capacity of the Nigeria Police Force by producing well-trained officers equipped with modern skills for effective policing nationwide.

The Senator disclosed that he personally sponsored the motion for the institute’s establishment in the Red Chamber, which was deliberated, passed into law, and provided with a ₦1 billion allocation in the 2025 budget, subsequently approved for implementation.

As part of his contributions to security and development in Kafin Hausa, Senator Madori said he donated a brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicle to the divisional police headquarters, renovated and furnished the divisional office and police barracks, and undertook other projects to motivate security operatives.

He further revealed that he has empowered over 8,000 youths and women in Kafin Hausa Local Government and donated ₦5 million for the completion of the central Juma’at mosque in the council headquarters.

The Senator expressed appreciation to the people of Kafin Hausa for the warm reception given to him during the visit and engagement programme.
