Sen. Sumaila Lauds Gov. Yusuf Over Townsman’s Appointment

Senator Suleiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, representing Kano South Senatorial District, has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for appointing Alhaji Nura Iro Ma’aji as a Commissioner in his cabinet, describing the gesture as well-deserved.
Sumaila, in a statement he signed, said the appointment is a testament to Ma’aji’s unwavering dedication, exceptional resourcefulness and remarkable intellect.
He expressed gratitude to the governor for the gesture, saying by recognising such potential from the Sumaila community and bestowing him with a slot of commissioner, the governor had set a precedent that would inspire the people of Sumaila and foster unity and ambition among them.
He said Ma’aji’s distinguished academic background and extensive political experience uniquely equipped him to make impactful contributions to Kano State.
He told the appointee, “I am confident that your leadership will usher in innovative policies and initiatives aimed at addressing the challenges we face and steer Kano towards a brighter future.
“Throughout your tenure, it is essential to carry out your duties with diligence, integrity and a strong sense of purpose, protecting the good name of your family and the esteemed legacy of your community will be paramount as you navigate the responsibilities of your new role,” he said.
The lawmaker assured Ma’aji of his commitment towards ensuring a smooth working relationship with him for the overall development of Kano State.
“Together we can make a meaningful partnership that will deliver tangible results to our constituents, uplift our communities and ensure sustainable growth in Kano State,” he said.
He appealed to the people of Sumaila, Kano South and Kano State in general to support the new commissioner to enable him to discharge his responsibilities effectively.
