Senator Yari flags off distribution of foodstuffs in Zamfara

Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulazizi Yari Abubakar, has flagged of the distribution of assorted grains across the 147 wards of the 14 local government areas of the state with a view alleviate hardship amongst the teeming populace of the state especially during the Ramadan fasting that has just commenced.
Senator Yari, who was represented by former Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, said the assorted grains which included rice, sugar, millet and maize, and will be simultaneously distributed amongst the poor classes irrespective of political and religious differences in the state.
Senator Yari further explained that, for this Ramadan, 250 households would benefit from the 14 local government areas of the state as against the 173 households benefited during the 2023 Ramadan palliative distribution.
He said, 173 had benefited for the last year’s Ramadan, though, it was determined by the current hardship being faced by the teeming people, that the number of beneficiaries should also keep increasing to 250 households.
“I noticed that, people are suffering lack of food, lack of so many things that seem to be integrally needed from each angle of life, but food is the most important amongst the peoples’ demands across the state without which there would be no life at all.
I call on all well to do personalities, groups and individuals to for the sake of rescuing our people off the abject poverty and hunger, to offer their giving hands especially to the class of destitute across the 14 local government areas of the state.
