Shanono LG Confirms Faruruwa Community Attack by Kidnappers – 2 Killed, 1 Kidnapped
The Shanono Local Government Council, under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Barau, has confirmed the unfortunate attack on Faruruwa Community, which resulted in the death of two individuals and the kidnapping of two others.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen this morning by the Chairman’s spokesperson, Comrade Ammar Wakili Shanono. The Chairman strongly condemned the attack and assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted.
According to reports, the attack occurred on Thursday night at around 8:00 PM, when suspected kidnappers stormed the community market with arms. In the process, they killed two people, kidnapped two others, and injured two more, who are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
The Chairman expressed deep concern over the rising insecurity in parts of the local government, particularly in communities bordering Katsina State.
“Our administration is doing everything possible to restore security in the area in order to protect lives and property,” Hon. Abubakar Barau said.
He added, “Security personnel are currently investigating the attack, and we are fully ready to cooperate with them throughout the process.”
The Chairman also urged residents of Faruruwa Community to cooperate fully with security agencies during the investigation to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
In conclusion, Hon. Abubakar Barau extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and prayed that Almighty Allah grants them the fortitude to bear the loss.
