The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Kano State and the state government over the devastating fire outbreak at the popular Singa Market.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday and signed by his spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai.
Falgore described the incident as unfortunate and devastating, noting that goods and properties worth billions of naira were destroyed in the inferno.
“It is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that, on behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, we extend our sympathies to the victims, their families, and everyone affected by the fire incident,” he said.
The Speaker urged members of the business community and residents to remain steadfast in the face of the tragedy and to continue giving maximum support to emergency personnel working to manage the aftermath of the incident.
He commended firefighters and security agencies for their timely response, which he said helped in tackling the outbreak, and called on relevant authorities to urgently provide modern firefighting equipment to prevent and contain future incidents.
Falgore also prayed for resilience, succour, and strength for all those affected by the tragic event.
