Skyline University has expressed its readiness to partner with stakeholders to strengthen the quality education system in Jigawa state.

The announcement was made by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ajith Kumar V.V., during a one-day workshop for private school proprietors held on Saturday at the NUT centre in Dutse.

Professor Ajith Kumar explained that, as part of its corporate social responsibility, Skyline University has embarked on skills training for teachers in Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, and other states, aiming to contribute to the development of the country.

“We believe that our interactions with private school proprietors today will help them design comprehensive strategies that would enhance the quality of education for secondary school students to compete with others globally,” he said.

He further assured more collaboration with the Jigawa state government, not only in training students but also in how to apply the knowledge acquired for nation-building and economic development.

While speaking to the University team, the Director-General, Dr. Ya’u Ahmad Sara, said the Jigawa state government is ready to partner with Skyline University to improve the quality of education in the state.

He urged the Jigawa private school proprietors to focus on building good character in their students and commended the team for choosing Jigawa state among the few selected to benefit from the training.

Also speaking, the Director of Academic Support Services at Skyline University, Sarada Maganti, said the team is in Jigawa to expand its mutual relationship with the state government as the University clocks five years.

Maganti, who advocated for education with good character, urged private school proprietors to focus on grooming the next generation with fundamental pillars like good vision, character, and values.

The Chairman of the Association of Private Schools Owners of Nigeria (APSON) Jigawa State Chapter, Comrade Ojo O. Felix, said about fifty private schools participated in the training.

Mr. Ojo commended Skyline University for the effort and urged the Jigawa state government to incorporate more private school teachers in its capacity-building and other skills training.

The chairman also appealed to the present administration in the state to provide more land for private schools to achieve better expansion of a conducive learning environment in their schools.
