Politics is not mathematics alone.
Politics is about justice. It is about fairness. It is about people.
Across Kebbi South -from the busy markets of Yauri to the communities of Ngaski and Shanga -the ordinary people are asking one honest question:
When will equity prevail?
For over twenty years, since the return of democracy in 1999, the senatorial seat has rotated within one axis. We acknowledge their service. We respect their contribution. But democracy cannot survive where balance is absent.
The people of Yauri Emirate and its sister LGAs have remained committed. They voted consistently. They mobilised support. They stood by the party in difficult seasons. Yet representation has not reflected their sacrifice.
This is not bitterness.
This is not hostility.
This is a demand for justice.
The 2023 election was decided by a narrow margin. That alone should send a clear signal: no zone is politically insignificant. No community should be treated as an afterthought.
Democracy is strongest when every part of the district sees itself in leadership.
When a significant voting bloc remains unrepresented for over two decades, frustration grows silently. Responsible leadership listens before that silence turns into disengagement.
We are not calling for conflict.
We are calling for correction.
We are not calling for removal.
We are calling for rotation.
Power must not become permanent property. It must remain a shared responsibility.
Let Kebbi South rise above political comfort and embrace fairness. Let us choose inclusion before division chooses us. Let us correct imbalance peacefully -through dialogue, conscience, and respect for all blocs within the district.
True unity is not built on dominance.
It is built on justice.
And justice demands that every zone, every voter, and every loyal supporter feels seen.
History will remember whether we chose fairness when the opportunity presented itself.
