Transforming Kura LGA, My Top Priority – Interim Chairman

Hon. Yahaya Tijjani Kura, Interim Committee Chairman of Kura Local Government, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to revitalizing the LG for sustainable development.
Speaking to journalists at the LG Secretariat, Hon. Yahaha highlighted his achievements since assuming office three months ago, during the holy month of Ramadan.
He revealed that his administration has made significant strides in restoring essential services, particularly in the water sector, where six water supply sources have been restored to major wards, ending a 10-year water crisis that had plagued the community.
In the education sector, Hon. Kura emphasized his commitment to improving learning conditions. Asserting that His administration has established a committee to revamp the sector, deployed security guards to schools, and settled outstanding allowances for the security guards.
Furthermore, the Chairman stressed his administration’s efforts in enhancing healthcare services. He has supported an NGO in providing essential drugs to the local hospital, ensuring that residents have access to quality healthcare.
Hon. Kura also highlighted his collaboration with the police to strengthen security in Kura LG. He has repaired patrol vehicles. Additionally, preparations are on ground to renovate official residence of the DPO, ensuring a conducive work environment for the police personnel and to ensure effective security service delivery.
Moreover, he has supported farmers in the LG, partnering with KSADP, KNARDA, and suppliers to provide tractors and other essential inputs, boosting agricultural productivity.
Hon. Kura attributed these successes to the support of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his Deputy Comr. Abdussalam Gwarzo who equals as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the State.
While thanking Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s led administration. He assured residents that this is just the beginning of a transformation journey, with more programs to be unveiled, bringing hope and renewed optimism to the community.
Residents of Kura LGA who spoke to newsmen, Muhammad Garba Ahmad and Murtala Rabiu praised the administration’s efforts, particularly in water and education, and sought divine guidance for the Governor and Interim Chairman, expressing their appreciation for the positive impact on their lives.
They also encouraged the administration to continue its good work, ensuring that Kura LG is transformed into a model local government area.
