Lieutenant Colonel Uba said that in its ongoing Operation DESERT SANITY IV, troops of Sector 1, in collaboration with the CJTF, made contact with ISWAP terrorists on 12 November at Yanaga Ari in Mafa LGA of Borno State, where the gallant troops killed the terrorists.

“The rescued corps members, comprising 36 males and 38 females, were en route to Hawul on a Christian evangelism mission when their vehicles broke down near a known kidnapping hotspot at night.”
Uba said a military patrol team was swiftly deployed to the scene after a CCTV system monitored by troops detected suspicious movement involving three buses at the location. The military high command commended the troops for their proactiveness, urging them to remain focused, vigilant, and committed to restoring peace across the North East region.
