Troops rescue 18 abducted victims in Zamfara, Katsina, others
Troops from the Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji, under the leadership of the General Officer Commanding, 8 Division Nigerian Army, successfully rescued more than 18 kidnapped individuals across several states, including Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, and Sokoto.
Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the Force Information Officer for Operation Hadarin Daji, made this announcement in a statement on Sunday.
Captain Ibrahim reported that these remarkable rescues were carried out by troops stationed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
“In one instance, five kidnapped victims were freed after a fierce gunfight with armed bandits along the Anka-Baggega Road”
“These individuals had been abducted by armed bandits who had blocked the Anka-Baggega Road and seized several people in a Canter truck, which was transporting goods to Baggega Market in Anka LGA”
Additionally, in Zamfara, the troops successfully rescued two kidnapped victims from their farmlands.
