From Abdullahi Alhassan, Kaduna

The Unified Nigerian Youth Forum (UNYF) extends warm congratulations to Hope Uzodinma, the Executive Governor of Imo State, on his resounding victory and successful reelection for another four-year term in the November 11th, 2023 Gubernatorial elections in Imo State.

On Sunday, November 12th, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared Hope Uzodinma, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the incumbent Governor of Imo State, as the duly elected winner with an impressive 540,308 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate trailed behind with 71,503 votes.

In a press release signed and widely distributed by Abdulsalam Mohammed Kazeem, the National President of UNYF, the youth group celebrates Governor Uzodinma’s victory as a significant triumph for democracy and good governance, not only within Imo State but also resonating with the APC and the entire nation.

The statement emphasizes, “Hope Uzodinma’s victory and reelection as the Executive Governor of Imo State have reaffirmed our belief, and that of the good people of Imo State, that he is indeed a great leader with a visionary approach, divinely sent to lift Imo State from backwardness and corruption into a haven of investments and progress. As progressive youths, we proudly align ourselves with this colossus.”

Highlighting Governor Uzodinma’s leadership qualities and achievements over the past four years, UNYF expresses confidence in his capacity to further elevate Imo State to a strategically competitive position, comparable to Lagos and Kano, in terms of revenue and service delivery.

One notable achievement emphasized is Uzodinma’s relentless crackdown on insecurity and criminality in Imo State, boosting investor confidence alongside substantial infrastructural development and friendly laws ensuring safety and good returns on investments.

The statement acknowledges Imo as the only state where the inhumane Monday sit-at-home policy of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) remains non-operational, earning Governor Uzodinma the people’s confidence. UNYF proudly identifies and partners with him in delivering world-class governance to the people of Imo.

Being one of the few APC governors in South Eastern Nigeria, Hope Uzodinma continues to leverage his position and connections with the Federal Government to foster peace and development in Imo State and a region that was once plagued by insecurity and criminality.
