V-PeSDI Commends Zero-Dose Implementation Project in Kano, Calls for Inclusive Engagement

The Vulnerable People Support and Development Initiative (V-PeSDI) has applauded the significant progress recorded in reducing the number of zero-dose children in Kano State.

The Co-ordinator of V-PeSDI, Hannatu Suleiman Abba, made this known during the quarterly review meeting, noting that the presentation by the Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) Kano focal person, Dr. Musa Muhammad Bello has clearly highlighted the positive impact of the project in the State held on 27 September 2025 at AHBN office Kano.

According to her, discussions at the meeting centered on Routine Immunization (RI) achievements for 2024 and projections for 2025 using scorecard, Key challenges encountered and Stakeholder engagement particularly in high-burden Local Government Areas

Hannatu emphasized the need for inclusive engagement of persons with disabilities in immunization planning and service delivery, citing long-standing vaccine hesitancy and misconceptions within disability clusters.

She also Said, V-PeSDI is still advocating for Improved access to vaccines for vulnerable children, especially those living with critical health conditions such as HIV and other chronic illnesses

In addition, V-PeSDI recommends the Deliberate policy adjustments and targeted strategies to ensure equitable vaccine coverage, so that no population group is left behind

V-PeSDI pledges in its mandates commitment in advancing inclusive health interventions and supporting stakeholders to bridge existing gaps in immunization services across Kano State.
